ARRIS Cadant C4c is a high-performance DOCSIS 3.0 platform using proven hardware and software technologies applied in CMTS C4. C4c is perfect for tight space rooms and consoles or for head-ends serving fewer subscribers than in case with CMTS C4.
С4с supports direct channel aggregation in accordance with the DOCSIS 3.0 standard. Aggregation of direct channels allows the operator to combine several physical channels into one, thus significantly increasing the bandwidth compared to using one direct channel. For example, a combination of four direct channels can provide a bandwidth of up to 200 Mbps in the direction from the CMTS to the cable modem.
Up to 6 cable access modules (CAM) can be installed with the C4c chassis. Thus, the system capacity can be from 12 to 60 reverse channels or from 16 to 80 direct channels. A system control module (SCM) and a router control module (RCM) are also installed in the chassis.
The С4с platform uses the same modules as the station DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS C4. It also fully supports CAM and power supply unit redundancy. The software features all the functions supported by the C4 station. C4c fully supports Ipv6 protocol for flexible addressing in large-scale networks.
