The main Ukrainian Internet audience is made up of people between 20 and 29 (32.3%). This is stated in the research by TNS Ukraine for the Ukrainian Association of Press Publishers (UAPP).
In addition, according to TNS Ukraine, men slightly dominate among uanet users — 51.9 %, and two main social groups are students (28.3 %) and professionals (19.8 %).
The research of time intervals when readers prefer to receive information from different media shows that while the press is read during the lunch hour ( noon —1 pm) and after work (between 6 and 8 pm ), the Internet is used at the start of the day ( 9 am to noon ) and at its very end ( 7 to 10 pm ).
The research was carried out on the basis of Ukrainian cities with the population of 50 thousand and more, among residents aged 12 to 65.
Let us remember that, according to the research carried out by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) at the initiative of the Kensu Interactive web agency, more than a half (56 %) of Ukrainians aged 18-25 living in urban areas had used the Internet in the past 30 days. And among respondents aged 18-25 the figure is even higher — 72 %. It also turned out that 21 % of the respondents had purchased goods or services via the Internet.
The most active Internet users are residents of the Central Region. The most popular social networks among the respondents who had used the Internet for the past 30 days are VKontakte.ru — 47 % and Odnoklassniki.ru — 45 %. To search for news and other information respondents most often use the Ukrainian version of the search engine Google — 49 % and Yandex — 30 %.
