In 2009, the revenues from providing telecommunication services in Ukraine decreased by 3 %, as compared to 2008, to 46.2845 bn UAH (1 USD = approx. 8 UAH), according to the report of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.
The general decrease in the revenues from telecommunication services was caused by a decrease in the revenues from mobile communication services (by 3.9%), postal services (by 9.1%), city telephony services (by 13.9%), rural telephony services (by 16.8%), and long-distance telephony (by 16.4%).
In the first half of 2009, the total revenues from the provision of telecommunication services in Ukraine made 22.1118 bn UAH.
