In 1Q 2009, the number of users of mobile Internet operator Kyivstar amounted to 1.35 million. The operator leads by the number of data transmission services subscribers – 37.3% of the total number of users of these services of all operators. Next comes MTS (36.4%) and life:) (22.6%) (the data from iKS-Consulting).
This has been stated by the Kyivstar director of product management and development Vitaly Vorozhbit.
At the same time, the number of WAP-Internet access users, according to him, in the first quarter totaled 4.8 million. The operator received the revenue of 33 million UAH from the use of WAP, and of 40 million UAH from the use of wireless Internet.
The calculation methodology considers a subscriber using the service at least once in 3 months.
