The number of cell communication subscribers in Ukraine by the end of June 2008 made up 55.177 million users /SIM-cards/, increasing in a month by 0.07 million people. This is reported by the analytical company AC&M Consulting. The penetration of cell communication in Ukraine by the end of June constituted 119.3 % comparing to 119 % in May
The leader in subscribers’ base increase in June, as in the previous month, is Astelit Company 75.2 %. The percentage of VympelCom in net increase made up 23.6 %, total share of other cell operators – 16.2 %. Kyivstar and МТS-Ukraine have shown negative results in net increase in June.
Market shares of the Ukrainian cell operators according to the number of subscribers by the end of June are as follows: Kyivstar – 42.3 %, МТS-Ukraine– 34.7 %, Astelit – 18.1 %, others 1.1 %.
