Comstar-United TeleSystems OJSC (Comstar-UTS ) has completed the affiliation of it’s two 100-% subsidiary companies – Sochitelecomservice CJSC (Sochi) and PortTelecom CJSC (Moscow region), as informed by Comstar-UTS

The reorganization of the affiliates by joining them to the head company was approved by the shareholders in December 2007.

 

At the moment telecommunication services in Sochi are provided by the southern Comstar affiliate, and in Moscow region – by the Moscow regional affiliate.

 

Besides, in the suburb of Moscow Comstar-UTS owns 100 % of the authorized capital of Unitel LLC, an alternative communication operator that, according to the reports, is also going to be joined to Comstar-UTS.

 

In future the company is planning to join all Russian regional affiliates to the head structure, creating on their basis branch offices on the territory of Russian Federation.

 

Comstar-UTS is a multiservice communication operator providing services in Moscow, Moscow region, some regions of Russia and the CIS. The Comstar-UTS Group of companies includes Moscow Municipal Telephone Network and Comstar-Direct, a provider of broadband Internet access services. The control stock of Comstar-UTS is owned by Sistema JSFC, 34.25% of shares are in public ownership.
