This presentation is dedicated to the problems of increasing requirements to network bandwidth and how DOCSIS 3.0 helps to solve these problems. There are discovered drivers affecting on the customers requirements for bandwidth and discussed the long-term forecasts. The technology DOCSIS 3.0, its features and differences from previous versions are overviewed. Compatibility with legacy technologies and infrastructure is emphasized.
Also there is discussed the case study of DOCSIS 3.0 network deployment, faced issues and ways to solve them. There is presented in details the Arris DOCSIS 3.0 portfolio: head end equipment Arris C4 and Arris C4c, edge QAM Arris UEQ D5, ordinary customer premises equipment (CPE) and Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapters (E-MTA), and network monitoring system ServAssure.
This presentation is focused on the needs of top executives and senior engineers of cable operators, but also it should be interesting to everybody who faces issues of increased demands on high bandwidth in cable networks.
